biochem lab!

I
t was 3 o’ clock in the night and I was waiting for a call from minu. She was supposed to explain an experiment that might turn up in the exam the next morning. My tension mounted too much that I couldn’t control myself, I called her. She picked up the call and said she needs 5 more mins to understand what she was reading and only then she could explain it to me. I had no choice but to wait. After about 10 mins I got a call from her, she quickly explained the entire experiment and hanged up the call.
She said it was easy but easy for those who knew what it was... I dint!

I somehow read the entire record, of course never understood anything though. It was already morning and I have to take the local MMTS train from hitech city to necklace road.

Pratyu would simply kill me if I missed my train; at least not on that particular day. It was the day that we had the external of our biochemistry lab. In the history of villa, I was the first biochem student. With all the courage, I went to the college. There, I had a relief because my friends said that the 2 questions that will be asked in the exam among the 20 experiments that we had would be revealed in advance! Hurray we were all waiting for the questions just outside the lab.

There comes our teacher Ms. Kavya. She gave us the questions and left immediately. Every one were digging into their books, notes, records to be perfect in the 2 experiments while I was asking minu where in my book are those experiments. Finally tried to understand (get the spellings right at least) the 2 experiments.

The bell rang and we have to get into our lab with the lab coat and the record. I was in my place which was right in front of the place where the external sits as I am on the first roll. Anxious to know we were as to who was the external this time... as it was the final year for all of us. And there he walked in... Oh my god!!!!!!!!!! he is the same external who came last time, the same external who was shocked to see my attendance% less than 50, the same external who would take viva only for the first 10 roll numbers, the same external who warned me last year to have more than 70% attendance for the final year at least (and mine was just 9%).

My heart started to beat in double count when he came closer; he sat in his place and started to sign the records. Meanwhile all that minu explained about the experiments went above my head. It would not be an exaggeration if I said that I almost forgot my roll number. My tension mounted even more every time I saw “Ms. Kavya for she had the grimmest face ever. Initially she liked us a lot but later when she realized that we dint like her she started to hate us (us- minu, pratyu, sindhu, ramya and me of course).

I started to write down the theory and there he called out my roll number...

“Roll num 2201 for viva”

I looked at Ms. Kavya and I guess this was the only time I saw her with a huge smile, never before and never again. The thought that the external was too strict n even more because I was going for the viva fascinated her so much I wonder y though.

“Who is 2201?” he called out again….

I thought those were the last few minutes of my life. I was sure he was going to throw me out of the lab. He quietly asked me to sit. Asked me my name and started to take the viva. God showered mercy on me; I answered 7 out of the 9 questions that he asked me. I was glad and so were my friends!

Finally it was over! This is the story about my Biochem external in the final year!!!!!!!!
